Dennis (Denny) Dawes was born in Greenfield, Ohio, in 1950. He graduated from West Portsmouth High School, in West Portsmouth, Ohio, in 1968. Denny continued his education at Kentucky Christian University, Grayson, KY, and graduated in 1972. Denny married Joan Kamer Dawes in 1971.
